    Fantastic design!

Published by Chris Sully Cortez on Jul 3rd 2025

Recently got three of these CA compliant baseplate extensions and THANK THE LORD they exist!! I wanted something as quality as my SLR Rifleworks baseplates that DID NOT require an additional screw or attachment method to bond the baseplate on. The design of these is legit brilliant and unless you really need to get these off to thoroughly clean out the mag tubes, the baseplate extensions ain’t coming off once on. I mean yes you can get them off, but man they’re a bear, which is a good thing!! I don’t want these things coming off at the most inopportune time. I haven’t run them through 3-4 classes like I have the SLR Rifleworks CA compliant extensions, but if they’re anything close to the same durability level, then I expect these Jagerwerks extensions to honestly be even MORE reliable with less parts to potentially fail. They even ship with a cool little Jagerwerks branded mini screwdriver you can use for optics or the baseplate removal process itself. I will leave an updated review 6-12 months down the line once I’ve run them through some classes, but for now these things are badass and if you’re wanting Cali compliant baseplate extensions that feel nice in the hand when grabbing for the reload, add weight, and durability to your reloads, then for now I recommend these. The ONLY thing I might even slightly critique, is that when grabbing for the reload, it does feel a little toooo smooth around the edges which we’ll see once I get these in the rain and start sweating how they handle on the reload, but it’s a minor gripe. I will say in comparing them to my SLR Rifleworks extensions they are superior in terms of heft of design, but the knurling on the front edge of the SLR extensions is nice and does aid in gripping the mag for a reload. Granted neither are as grippy as the Landers Weapons Systems baseplates, however those are not metal, not as thick - making it more difficult to grab and easier to miss the reload, and the contours just aren’t as thick and ‘palm filling’ as either the SLR or Jagerwerks baseplate extensions. Overall I do like the design aesthetic, would also love to see them offered in different colors as a drag down option rather than having to add to cart with a cerakote option after the fact. If you’re in the market for CA compliant baseplate extensions I’d definitely recommend these.
