FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the steps for getting my slide worked on?

1. Choose your slide milling and coating options and add them to your cart. Make any important notes about what accessories you are sending as well as the serial number and model of your slide in the comments section.

2. Place your order with us, print out your invoice, and mail your slide and any accessories you want installed to us.

JagerWerks Eng
111 E D Ave
Kalamazoo, MI 49009

We have a video to assist you with how to package your slide and gear up. We recommend thoroughly packing up your equipment so no damage happens to the slide or the packaging resulting in your slide being lost in the mail. We also recommend writing your order number outside on the box.

3. Once we receive your slide and it is checked in you will receive an email that it has arrived and is in the process of being worked on. Please allow a few days from the time your tracking says “Delivered” to receive the email from us. We thoroughly unbox each package and this takes time.

4. When your slide has been completed, we will email you the return shipping information with tracking. We have free shipping, but recommend that you purchase shipping insurance for your return. We offer this under ‘Gear’: https://jagerwerks.com/shipping-insurance-with-signature-confirmation/
Once the slide leaves our shop we are not responsible for loss or damaged items.

5. Receive your slide and enjoy!

Order Status Updates and Lead Times

There are three order statuses. Awaiting Fulfillment, which is what your order shows on our backend when you have placed your order. Package Arrived at JagerWerks, which is the status change that happens when your slide is unboxed in our shop and put into the queue for work, and finally Shipped.

The current lead time is 4-8 weeks with an additional 1-3 weeks for coating.

If you are inside of that first 4-8 weeks, please be patient, it is difficult and time consuming for us to keep every single customer updated. Feel free to email us if you are interested in making changes, but please know if parts of your order have already received work there will be cases where changes can no longer be made.

Adding Additional Milling, Coating, or Accessories to Your Order

When making an additional purchase to be added to an existing order, please include in the new order’s comments section what the order number you would like to combine the purchase with. Any additional comments that would be helpful for us should be included as well.

Coating (Cerakote and Black Nitride)

Simply put… Cerakote will show wear over time. If this is a cause for concern we highly recommend Black Nitride. We are able to keep our Black Nitride cost low because we personally drive batches to a local service and pick them up ourselves when the batch is done.

The colors we offer for Cerakote can be found here: https://jagerwerks.com/cerakote/

The process of milling, applying Cerakote, or having your slide sent for Nitride requires the entire slide to be coated. Your original paint, coating, or finish cannot be preserved.
It is not necessary to purchase coating, but we highly recommend coating be applied to your slide after you receive it from us. Many slides will see corrosion if not coated properly. JagerWerks is not responsible for any finish related problems when not being recoated after milling. Additionally, slides left uncoated can show signs of being fixed into our machines if we do not recoat them.

Glock Slide Milling

All of our Glock slide milling packages can be applied to any Glock. There are some limitations.
Factory Glock front serrations limit the packages to our Yeti, F7, Covid, or Enhanced Serrations packages.

Slide milling packages vary slightly based on the length and width of the slide. Longer slides have received some modifications to ensure they are safe to use.

We do not mill Glock 42 or Glock 44 slides for optics.

There are a number of third party slides on the market, most of them can be milled for optics. We can mill most Glock slide blanks like Alphawolf, Brownells, and others for our slide milling packages. Sometimes there can be issues with existing serrations but many of these slides can still receive some milling. Email us if you have any questions related to your particular slide.

Optic Cuts

Optic Milling For Glock.

We mill Glock slides for the following optics: Aimpoint Acro, Shield RMSc, Trijicon RMR/SRO, Trijicon RMRcc. Burris Fastfire 3, Vortex Viper, Vortex Venom and Leupold Deltapoint Pro, Holosun 407c/507c/508t, Holosun K Series and Holosun 509T

When milling for a Deltapoint Pro on a Glock slide we must use the iron sight that attaches to the optic housing from Leupold. We do not offer standard iron sight dovetails behind, or in front of the optic. This applies to Glock slide milling packages for the Deltapoint Pro.

When milling for the Trijicon SRO on a Glock: you can only have the Race Cut (no dovetail) or the Rear Dovetail (Iron Sight Behind Optic). Due to the design of the SRO it will overhang into a forward dovetail.

Optic Milling For CZ.

We only mill the P10 S/C/F for the Trijicon RMR/SRO, Holosun 407C/507C/508T, Holosun 509T, Vortex Venom, Vortex Viper, Burris FF3, Shield RMS/c, and Leupold Delta Point Pro.

We only mill the P07/09 for the Trijicon RMR/SRO, Holosun 407C/507C/508T.

Optic Milling for Sig Sauer.

We mill the P320 for the following optics: Trijicon RMR/SRO, Holosun 407C/507C/508T, Holosun K Series, Leupold Deltapoint Pro, Burris Fastfire 3, Sig Romeo 1 Pro, Shield RMSc, Vortex Venom, Vortex Viper.

We mill the P365 for the following optics: Shield RMSc and Holosun K series and the Sig Romeo Zero.

My Slide is already milled for an optic, can you mill it for a different optic? Long answer short, no. We cannot mill an existing optic cut for a new optic. (including MOS, except for the K Series Upgrade)

Screws

Most of our optic cuts come with screws included. We source our screws and have them sent for Black Nitride for strength.
The Leupold Delta Point Pro and the Trijicon RMRcc will require you to use the included screws that came with the optic.
Here is a list with specifications of the other screws we have that will come with your optic cut:

Carbon Cap - #6-32 x 5/16" IP15

Trijicon RMR/SRO - #6-32 x 7/16" IP15

Vortex Viper - #6-32 x 3/8" T10

Vortex Venom - #6-32 x 7/16" 7/64 Allen Wrench

Holosun 407c/507c/508t - #6-32 x 5/16" IP15

Holosun K Series - #6-32 x 7/16" IP15

Shield RMS/c - #6-32 x 3/8" T10

Burris Fastfire 3 - #6-32 x 3/8" IP15

Sig Romeo Zero - #6-32 x 7/16" IP15

We cannot confirm or deny if these screws work with other optic cuts.

Our screws do not work with MOS Glocks.

We recommend a small amount of Blue 242 Loctite on each screw to prevent backing out.

My screws are stuck in my slide and stripped out. What do I do?

Send your slide back into us and we will do everything we can to extract the screws.  There may be a minimal fee associated with the removal and replacement screws.

Iron Sights and Accessories

Many of our optic cuts for slides that are not Glocks end up getting a Glock style rear sight dovetail. We often recommend Dawson Precision iron sights because of the cost, quality, and flexibility with their options. Each product description will have links to recommendations of iron sights.

If you include your optic, iron sights, and other related accessories with your slide we will install them free of charge (if they are compatible with our cuts or upon written request).

Aftermarket Barrels - Some aftermarket barrels are not compatible with our Glock top front window cut. Contact us to get more information.

Returns and Cancellations

You can cancel part or all of your order and get a refund if the work has not been done. Any orders cancelled will have a 10% cancellation fee. If we have to ship back any parts, the shipping charges will not be refunded. Any refunds issued will be less 10% for the processing/restocking fees. All orders may be void or expired after 2 years from the original order date.

All ready to ship items can be returned, unused and in the original packaging within 60 days. Within the 60 days there will be a 10% restocking free, unless the reason for return was due to the manufacturers error. The customer is also responsible for paying shipping fees if the return is not a manufacturer defect or error. All sales are final after the 60-day time period on all ready to ship items.
