Description

If holster wear/durability is a concern then we highly recommend going with our Black Nitride as Cerakote is a wearable item. 

Black Nitride adds roughly 3 weeks to your slide order. Items sent in only for black Nitride have a 3-6 week turn around time. 

The Salt Bath Nitride process is a Thermo Chemical treatment that improves wear resistance and corrosion resistance of ferrous metals with little or no dimensional change.

If you send in a slide that we do not offer milling for you will have to have it completely disassembled. Please remove the irons and all internals. If you fail to do this we will refund the order and return the slides.

    I had a new G20.5 threaded barrel in stainless steel that needed to be coated in black nitride correctly and in a timely manner. My unit armorer in recommended JagerWerks and I could not be any more pleased with their work on the barrel. JW's customer service is top-notch, as is the quality and turn-around time of their service(s). I will be sending in more barrels, both new & "seasoned", for their outstanding work.     The slide and barrel arrived better than stock it’s condition. The black nitride finish was pristine and solid. This should hold up well after daily holster use. Thanks Jagerwerks!

    Nitride slide service on unsupported slide?

    I bought the nitride coating service a couple years back during a sale, just in case, and finally had a decent amount of wear on one particular pistol after two years. Problem was, it wasn't one for which JW offered milling services. Oh no! I contacted JW and they instructed me to fully strip the slide, including sights, and I sent it in and they turned it around quickly for me. So maybe next time they have a sale, pick up a nitride service and keep it for when you have a slide that needs refinishing, even if it's an oddball. They don't expire and it's cheap insurance. JW rocks.

    Great service. I'm glad someone in the industry is doing it. I would like them to do rifle barrels too. Not AR-15 barrels, but AK barrels, 10/22 barrels, etc.
