Description

If holster wear/durability is a concern then we highly recommend going with our Black Nitride as Cerakote is a wearable item.

Black Nitride adds roughly 3 weeks to your slide order. Items sent in only for black Nitride have a 3-6 week turn around time.

The Salt Bath Nitride process is a Thermo Chemical treatment that improves wear resistance and corrosion resistance of ferrous metals with little or no dimensional change.

If you send in a slide that we do not offer milling for you will have to have it completely disassembled. Please remove the irons and all internals. If you fail to do this we will refund the order and return the slides.

    Black Nitride Finish

Published by MC on Oct 15th 2025

Purchased an aesthetically abused slide—a true diamond in the rough. Jagerwerks expertly removed the multiple worn finishes and applied a sleek Black Nitride coating. The result is nothing short of remarkable—the slide now looks brand new and absolutely stunning.

Sent my 43x slide in for the black nitride treatment and Jagerwerks did not disappoint. The slide is perfect, 100 times better than the OEM finish. Quick turnaround time too. I would absolutely recommend Jagerwerks.

Removed Cerakote and Replaced with Nitride

Published by Michael McClelland on Jun 5th 2025

First impression was “Holy cow!”. Jagerwerks managed to take an ugly duckling slide with horrible Cerakote, remove it and put the Nitride finish on flawlessly. I wish I could attach photos here but I don’t see an option. The entire process from shipping my slide, progress status and shipment to back to me has been effortless on my part, but on the other end I’ve been updated on every move. I’m already looking at future projects like barrel work. I appreciate your time and look forward to working with you again soon.

    Nitride vs Cerakote

Published by CB on Mar 31st 2025

Personal preference: I prefer the look and feel of Nitride over Cerakote. Having owned Cerakote slides and Nitride slides, I tend to prefer the Nitride and am glad I went with this option to finish out my slide after it was milled. The look, to me, seems more authentic, in that it just looks and feels like what I imagine a pistol should look and feel like. Cerakote is a little more tactile and grippy, which is nice, but even when I am not wearing gloves, I prefer the feel of the nitride. Plus, the nitride doesn't seem to show signs of wear like the cerakote from constant daily use.
